We evaluate the fit before making an introduction.

How it works

A better match starts with a short conversation.

01 · A 5–10 minute intake

Tell us what matters

We learn what prompted the review, what is working today, what you want to improve or confirm, and what type of advisor relationship would fit your company.

02 · A tailored search

We identify the options

We identify up to three vetted retirement plan advisors whose experience, service models, and ideal client profiles may align with your goals.

03 · Your decision

You choose who to meet

You review the options and select one advisor to meet first. If the first conversation is not the right fit, we can present another qualified option.

You remain in control throughout the process. We do not automatically schedule multiple meetings or distribute your information broadly.

Why evaluate your 401(k)?

Small differences add up across an entire plan.

A retirement plan can run for years while fees, features, providers, and your workforce keep changing. A periodic review helps confirm it all still fits.

Financial scale

On $1 million in plan assets, a 1% difference is$10,000in a single year — and compounding makes it far larger over time.

Plan oversight

Correcting plan errors — late deposits, missed eligibility, filings — can mean real employer cost. Strong oversight may help identify issues earlier.

Employee engagement

A plan only works when employees use it. Plan design and education can meaningfully influence participation.

A better introduction starts with knowing what you want to accomplish.

A short intake gives us the context to guide the search — your current experience, the support you value, and where you may want an advisor to help.

What we learn

  • What prompted the review
  • What is working today
  • How involved you want the advisor to be
  • What the first meeting should address

What you may want to accomplish

  • Review fees, costs, and investment options
  • Improve employee education or engagement
  • Find an advisor familiar with your industry
  • Confirm the current advisor still fits

The goal is not simply to find an available advisor. It is to find one who may be equipped to help with the priorities that matter to your company.

Most introductions begin with availability. Ours begins with fit.

Before making an introduction, we learn what you want to accomplish and what type of advisor is most likely to help. We then identify up to three vetted options for you to review. You select one advisor to meet first — introductions always happen one at a time. If the first conversation is not the right fit or you decide not to move forward, we can present another qualified option.

Your information is not distributed broadly, and meetings are never scheduled without your approval.

  • 5–10 minute employer intake
  • Search tailored to your priorities
  • Advisors vetted before partnership
  • You choose who to meet

No employer fee. No obligation to replace your current advisor, provider, or plan arrangement.

About us

Built around better matches.

MatchMy401k was inspired by the recruiting industry, where the strongest introductions come from understanding both sides before they meet.

We learn what your company wants to accomplish, look for advisors whose experience and service models align, and vet the advisors we partner with. The result is a more relevant first conversation and less time spent meeting advisors who were never likely to fit.

Common questions

Is MatchMy401k really free for employers?

Yes. Employers do not pay MatchMy401k. Advisors may compensate MatchMy401k through a flat fee for qualified introductions. Our compensation is not based on plan assets, investment performance, advisory fees, or whether you ultimately choose to work with an advisor.

What happens during the intake call?

The intake normally takes approximately 5–10 minutes. We discuss what prompted the review, what is working today, what you would like to improve or confirm, and the type of service and support your company values.

How many advisors will you present?

We may present up to three vetted advisors who appear to fit your company, plan, goals, and service expectations. You review the options and select one advisor to meet first.

Do you vet the advisors you work with?

Yes. We do not automatically accept every advisor who wants access to employer introductions. We look for credible retirement plan specialists who can clearly explain whom they serve best, how they support employers, and where they can provide meaningful value.

Is MatchMy401k a financial advisor?

No. MatchMy401k provides qualification, matching, marketing, and introduction services only. MatchMy401k is not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, recordkeeper, third-party administrator, or fiduciary and does not provide investment, financial, legal, tax, or fiduciary advice.
